About the role:
Funcom Oslo is looking for an HRBP for our computer games studio in Oslo. You’ll be working alongside the Head of the Studio, CHRO and management team to ensure smooth running in all things people related. From onboarding, through building and advancing, to offboarding.
At the Funcom HQ in Oslo we are currently 125 highly motivated people from 30 nationalities, working together to make awesome computer games. We work according to the Kaizen principles of continuous improvement and follow a highly agile production philosophy.
Your mission in Funcom:
As the HRBP, you will be responsible for maintaining HR processes as agreed with CHRO, our Head of the Studio and the management team.
The HRBP works to foster a positive working environment for all employees, to make sure people are happy, and contribute to reaching the company’s goals. The focus should be on managing all the HR structures within the studio. This would happen in alignment with our global policies and with the other HR teams in Portugal, USA and Romania.
Some of our everyday tools include BambooHR, TeamTailor, OfficeVibe, LeapSome and xledger. In addition to Slack, Jira, Office365 and Miro for planning and communication. The right person likely has some previous knowledge with these, or similar tools, but training and guidance will be given, of course.
How you can have an impact in your position:
- You are a key contact person for our employees. Being approachable and helpful with all our colleagues is of great importance.
- You would manage A-Z HR tasks related to the studio employees (on-site and remote employees).
- You would participate in implementing global and local HR processes like performance management, compensation planning, communications, pension, health care and other local benefits administration.
- Your target is delivering amazing employee experiences. From onboarding to offboarding including registry of new arrivals to Norway, visa processes, tax card admin, and personal identity numbers.
- Alongside the rest of the management team, you would be key in implementing programs to retain top talent for all positions within the studio in collaboration with the Head of Studio.
- Gather feedback from employees and managers and initiate improvement processes together with the other HRBPs in our other studio locations.
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships.
- Essential parts of this role include working with employee’s representatives (Arbeidsmiljøutvalg), documentation and planning, as well as following up and minimizing sick leave alongside NAV (Sykefraværsoppfølging).
- You would support the organization and participate in some social activities for the studio and help the office management with general administration tasks when needed.
- We are working as a team, and being in sync with other Funcom studios and their HRBPs is key to our success.
- There would be opportunities to represent Funcom at games conventions and external industry events.
We are looking for you to have:
First of all, we think that you like to have fun at work, and have a mindset that is open and actively looking for ways to improve both your own situation and the company’s way forwards.
- At least 3-4 years’ experience in an HR generalist role.
- BA or MA degree in HR, Legal, Business, Admin/people orientated directions can be very helpful. (We are very pragmatic at the core of the company, and the ability to deliver can often outweigh formal certifications).
- As our main contact point with NAV, UDI, Skatteetaten and other government bodies, a solid command of Norwegian language is important. Both spoken and written. Although our daily working language is English, there are frequent points where fluency in both languages is required. Preferably to a B2 level Bergenstesten or equivalent.
- The ability to be a good listener, friendly and empathic is very helpful. Equally helpful is being comfortable connecting with people in both Norwegian and English.
- Knowledge and experience of applicable labor laws and employment practices in Norway. Working knowledge of national web portals like altinn.no, nav.no, skatteetaten.no.
- Experience with Arbeidsmiljøloven/ Work Environment Act, Ferieloven /Holiday act, and other relevant legislation.
- Knowledge in recruitment, retention, employee relations, safety, employee engagement and employee development.
- Knowledge about compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
- Good judgment and discretion concerning confidential information and professionally represent the company.
Preferred skils:
- An analytical and solutions-oriented approach.
- Have knowledge about compensation programs and other Human Resources recognition and engagement programs and processes.
- Coaching and counselling skills.
- Planning and organizing skills.
- Great understanding of the gaming industry and the challenges that are connected to it.
