Now, our Core Tech department in Oslo needs a Tools Programmer to help extend and improve our tools which are used by all internal game teams.
Your Mission in Funcom
In this position you will develop new tools to increase productivity of the game teams, as well as help improve and extend existing tools and backend systems. This could involve writing extensions to the unreal editor such as asset validation, working with the unreal build and automation tools or writing standalone tools such as a game item creation/management tool.
This is a position where the right candidate will have the chance to work end to end in exciting projects and new tools to facilitate development of our in-house games. As a Tools Programmer at Funcom, you will use your experience to improve both the quality and robustness of the code, as well as improve the end user experiences.
How you can have an impact in your position:
- Develop new tools to increase productivity in the game teams
- Improve and extend existing tools and backend systems

- Work on automation tools
We are looking for someone that has:
- Experience with Python or C#
- Experience in relational databases (such as PostgreSQL)
- Knowledge of C++
- Desire and ability to write clear documentation for the end users
- 2+ years of professional programming experience
- Strong communication skills (English is our working language)
- Experience working with the Unreal editor and build tool (preferable)
- Experience with full stack web development (preferable)
- Knowledge of container-based development (preferable)
- Experience with DevOps (preferable)
