Graphics / Rendering Programmer Technology Team Oslo

Funcom is looking for a talented rendering programmer with a keen interest in visual effects and solid knowledge of modern rendering approaches, to work on our upcoming games.

As part of our core technology team, you will design, write and optimize rendering features, working closely with the artists to help us create visually compelling experiences.

You will also be heavily involved in deciding how best to drive our visuals forward.

Requirements:

- Excellent knowledge of modern rendering algorithms and techniques.

- Excellent 3d Math skills.

- Demonstrated experience working on recent graphics APIs, such as d3d12/11/libGNM.

- Strong c++ and software design skills, including experience working in multithreaded and memory constrained environments.

- Strong communication skills (English is our working language).

- Contributed significant rendering technology on one or more released titles.

- A passion for visuals.

Desirable:

- Experience working with UE4

Technical Artist All Products Durham

Funcom is looking for an enthusiastic, talented and versatile Technical Artist to join its development team in North Carolina, working on The Secret World, Age of Conan, and unannounced projects.

  • Refine pipeline with tools and scripts to improve efficiency
  • Act as a liaison between the Art and Programming departments.

  • Recommend and implement ways to improve visual quality
  • Assist with content creation

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of professional experience in game development or a strong technical art background.

  • Unreal 4 Engine Expert
  • Experience with modeling, UV creation, Shading, Rendering, and animations in 3dsmax.
  • Proficiency in Maxscript
  • Experience creating and optimizing shaders and materials

Desirable:

  • Competence in C++
  • Substance Designer experience
  • Experienced with Rigging and Skinning
  • Understanding of HLSL

You will be responsible for establishing the architectural vision of new games and help coordinate the maintenance of our existing live MMOs.

Requirements for the position:

  • Ability to lead engineers, providing technical direction, as well as mentoring members of the team.
  • Strong C++ skills, including experience working in multithreaded and memory constrained environments.
  • Deep understanding of multiple engine areas (networking, AI, physics, animations, rendering, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of 3D math / trigonometry.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine 4
  • Experience working with consoles, including working on TRC compliance issues.
  • Have worked on one or more titles from beginning to end.
